How I did it:

1. Traveled with family
2. Contacted friends in Toronto to hang out. 
3. Relaxed and enjoyed all the I socialized with. 
4. Held onto my purse strings. 

Lessons & tips: Take advantage of the fact that it's a new place, your eyes are looking at a different environment so you're renewing your senses. Sharing it was people you know and love is great too.
