How to run a mile in 11 minutes
"faster"
How I did it: I was training for the L.A. Marathon and used the Road Runners walk/run program. You start out alternating walking and running and work up to running longer, and walking less. It really helps save your legs.
Lessons & tips: Practice. Find people to run with, and a course that you enjoy running on. That way you can measure your progress since you'll have an idea of how long it used to take you to complete the course.
Resources: Marathon training groups, books and online running programs.
