How I did it: it's a modest living, but... 

Lessons & tips: Just do it. Practice, practice, practice. I spend roughly six hours a day working, painting, crafting, sketching, and scratching paint off my knees and hands, but at the end of the day I have great looking products and a really great sense of self worth. I am my own boss, I don't need to find a menial part time job to provide for myself. I can work in my underwear, drinking a glass of wine, listening to loud slow music... I can take my lunch breaks to take a bubble bath, watch a movie, call my boyfriend for 45 minutes on HIS lunch hour. I can take as many lazy bathroom breaks as I want, I can be late for work, and if I don't want to work one day, I don't! If that's not motivation enough for anyone, I don't see what could be. Fulfillment and no annoying co-workers or awkward water cooler chat. 

Resources: A million trips to art stores, coupons for canvas and mugs, a kick in the booty, Etsy, my mother, my boyfriend, and my friends and family who started the success by ordering mugs from me just because they wanted to support a friend.
