How I did it: I was singing for some of my friends one day and they told me I should audition for American Idol; and I loved to see and always wanted to so I took the next step.
I went online to there webpage and found out when auditions were and found the one most convenient for me. I desided to go the the one in New Orleand because I have an aunt that lives not far from there. We got there a day before registrations just to make sure. Some of the places verie on how many days you have to register. I had two days but I registered on the first day possible because your not promise a chance to audition. So we had to find the address and number and all the info on American Idol.com and all you have to do is click on auditions find click the city you would like to audition at and it gives you all the information an location. Then you will find beside it the rules NOTE theres a lot of them but not all of them are inforced. You will also want to print out the reform, because they may not have enough when you get there and you absolutely need it to audition. So when you have all your info and your there waiting you could possibly wait all day before your audition. I ended up waiting 10 hours. So you will want to bring things to keep you occupied and like food and drinks but once you enter the building you will be check and food and drinks will be trash caned. Once your in the building sitting they may take a little bit to get started but we did a crowd shot of us cheering our journey on. After our guest spoke to us and we watched this very inspirational video the auditions got started. Your section will get called and you will hand in your forms and ticket and go line up in a group of four. You wont be in a seperate room like you see on tv you will be in the open were anyone close enough can hear at least for your first audition...but you will be taken with your group to your judges you may have up to three you will sing one at a time then step back in line and they will talk then tell you the results they may choose all of you one of you or none of you its all up to them. They have a losers door and a winners door. If you dont make it through this time walk out of those doors with your head held high because there are cameras on the other side and it is not the end its the Beginning!!!!

Lessons & tips: You want to walk up to the judges with a smile and confidence...DONT be rude and cocky. Sing load and choose a song thats really fit for your voice. Dont try and sound like the singer sound like yourself. When you hear others singing it can be easy to get intimidating but I heard a lot of girls singing and was like omg I sound good but they are like Christina Aguilara up there...but they also all sounded alike and the judges arent looking for that they are looking for unique and special so dont count yourself out before you even get your chance the judges will be able to tell whether you think you are meant for it or not so have the attitude that you are just dont be cocky be confident and try your absolute best. If you want put on a show for them make them remember you and make them say WOW thats a star this is your chance so make it worth while if you have to make a fool of yourself do it because you will be noticed trust me...Just be yourself and your best self at that.
