"One of the hardest, and most rewarding things I've ever done."
How I did it: I used a 6-week training plan from Fitness Magazine that had me working out 5 days a week. The workouts alternated run/walk intervals and cross-training, with two rest days each week.
Lessons & tips: Because of the heat and my schedule, all of my training took place in
the gym, which was definitely an obstacle. Next time, I'll try to train
less on the treadmill and more on the pavement.
Tip: Don't run your first 5K in AUGUST! SO HOT!
