How I did it: I promised myself if he lied ONE MORE time (no matter how many other lies I forgave him for) I would end it. It was a small lie, but I was sick and tired of adding up all the "small lies" to the mountain of lies. I said "This was the last time you will ever lie to me" and I left. And you know what? It's not up to him anymore. It's up to me. The relationship was so toxic, so full of possession, pain, and passion. I realized that's not love. Love is understanding, communication, respect, honesty and a lot of other things that a toxic relationship just doesn't have. I'll take the pain of the breakup, the pain of searching within myself for answers, the pain of being alone for now....over the pain he caused me with his lies ANYDAY.

Lessons & tips: We all deserve to be in a good, honest relationship with someone who loves us for us, not for our looks or other superficial aspects. If the one you love, doesn't love you back the way you want to be loved....leave, leave NOW and know that you will find someone to love you for you. We get what we settle for. Don't settle.

Thank you. You are absolutely correct that they do sneak up on you. All of a sudden you look at yourself, your life, your relationship and wonder “How did I get here?” “I didn’t sign up for this” and by then you’re deep into in and have to make some very hard choices. Toxic relationship consume your health (emotional and physical) and sanity. And no relationship is worth that!

This sounds familiar, just had to make those choices myself, living with it all is the thing! I know I made the right choice we couldn’t carry on the way we were. Both had our moments not just her but your right about what you said, about what love should be and what love is not!

I had to let that go like… death.
I hope it never creaps up on me again.
There is a world out there that I knew before&after
and know again.
You said it right…no need to “carry on the way we were”
No need for that.
