How I did it: It all started when I was 17 in April 2008 when I first tried to get my L plates. I failed the eye sight test because as it turned out, I have been short sighted all my life and needed prescription glasses. Fast forward to September/October 2008 when I finally got the L plates.
It wasn't until April 2009 where I actually got behind the wheel for the first time with my Dad, it was just around my old high school's car park but it was something. I then started booking driving lessons with a driving school but after 4 lessons with them I didn't like the way they taught. I took a long driving break, just driving with Dad in the car park every now and then. I remember thinking how I will never be good enough to drive on actual roads by myself.
In December 2009 starting driving again with my 2nd driving school. I stayed with them until my first test date which was in March 2010, I failed this test and the examiner wasn't very nice either so it was really discouraging. I then went with my third driving school throughout April 2010 but the instructor kept getting quite angry at the silly mistakes I was making so i took another driving break.
I decided to take a semester off university so I could get my driving back into gear, so in February 2011 I went with my fourth driving school and failed my second and third tests with them. So in November 2011 I went with my sisters driving instructor, my fifth driving school, and finally passed my Driving Practical Assessment on December 15, 2011 with flying colours.
So I did my log book throughout the six month period and on June 15, 2012 I did my Hazard Perception Test and passed. I was given my drivers license then :).
