How to start my own business
"A business isn't always about earning money; it's a gateway to learn things about yourself and to take charge of who you want to be."
How I did it: I actually read the Girl Scout Focus Book: Mind Your Own Business. It very well helped me out, in terms of calculations for expenses and profit, what I was selling, and so much more. I also interviewed others who have started their own businesses. I asked them questions, such as how they advertise frugally and tips on helping customers remember their businesses.
Lessons & tips: Prices:
- Look at your competitors' prices. Go lower.
- Don't spend $ on a lot of packaging; people are only focused on the product itself, not what holds it.
- Respond to their questions, if through email, ASAP always. Never hold it off.
Making others remember your business
- Business cards are VERY helpful! Give them out to people for advertisement and in the packages you send to your customers. Don't forget to write down the item(s)/service(s) you sell; otherwise, they can forget what your business is for.
