How to gain another qualification
How I did it: I spent a year gathering evidence and learning some new skills which were required for me to gain the NVQ level 2 award in Blood Donor support. It took quite a bit of time going through assessment paperwork and I had to do it all in my own time as we were very short staffed at the time and my employers could not give me time to do it in working hours. It was quite difficult sometimes to motivate myself to sit down and do it. But I stuck at it and it was worth it in the end!
Lessons & tips: Choose a course which really interests you and stick at it, however tough it gets. It is worth it in the end!
Resources: I could not have done it without the support of my co-workers, especially my assesser. I will always be grateful to her for that.
