How to get my 5 year s.p. certification
"It was a beaurocratic mess, but worth it in the end."
How I did it: I basically filled out all the paperwork with the school district I work for, and turned it in. Then it was just a matter of playing the waiting game while I waited for the professional standards commission to process it. In GA, you need a master's degree in s.p. and a district to help you apply in order to get this particular type of certificate. Now I have 5 years before it expires, and in that time, I have to get my EdS so it converts to a renewable certificate. This won't be a problem, b/c I am on internship now and will get the EdS in May.
