How to lose 10 pounds
How I did it: I was going through some hard times and met a personal trainer through a friend. I mentioned I was thinking of running a half and next thing I knew she was designing a program for me.
I actually ended up losing more than I expected. Last year at my heaviest I was 179 lbs and I am down to about 161 now (My height is 5'10").
Instead of just running at the same pace all the time like I used to, I did a lot of strength training and speed intervals. In all honesty, I didn't follow her program religiously, but the combination of intervals, strength training and the weekend long runs is what was successful for me. So you don't necessarily need a personal trainer to accomplish this goal.
Lessons & tips: Watch your diet!
Limit your alcohol consumption.
Exercise consistently... INTERVALS burn the most calories.
