How I did it: Well, I didn't go when I originallly intended to.  The trip was cancelled as I had recently left a long term relationship and we were due to be going together.  But...  I did go a month later.  I actually ended up going with my former partner and having a wonderful time.  From the moment I arrived it was an almost surreal experience - i didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Most days were filled just by wandering around, taking in the atmosphere and drinking coffee.  The weather was beautiful, the streets were busy and the nights were warm and relaxed.  The whole experience just inspired me and I ended up going back again a month later.  It's now two months since my last visit and I'm going back next weekend.  I can't wait.   And hopefully, with a bit of luck (and effort) I'll be moving there next year.
