"Humor. Sharing. Humility. Hard Work."
How I did it:
Laugh out loud, often, and with conviction!
Eat well - learn the value of food as a means of communing/communicating with your friends, family and the good earth.
Meditate daily - accept that you fit perfectly well in the unfathomable mystery of life.
Work Hard - strengthen your mind and body.
Depression and anxiety are not the same thing. Depression is a product of the past. Anxiety, a product of the future. Live in the moment and you will be free of both!
Lessons & tips: For me, giving up depression was not at all easy or quickly acheived. It took years of fits and starts at trying to be happy. Simply put - live in the present moment. The past has passed and the future is unknown. Learn from mistakes or past abuses, but don't live there - you've changed and it's not you anymore. As the saying goes - you cannont step twice into a river and be the same person.
Things, people, thoughts - nothing is permanent. Give up possessions (and being possessive) with ease and confidence.
Resources: Therapy, occasionally.
Regular meditation - or prayer if that is your method.
Walking often.
Healthy food and the knowledge of where it comes from.
Thoreau, Whitman, Lao-Tzu.
