I DONT KNOW HOW YOU DID IT BUT IF YOU CAN WILL YOU HELP ME TO STOP MY CRAVINGS FOR SUGAR I AM ONLY THIRTEEN AND I WANT TO LOOSE WEIGHT BY MAKING MY CRAVINGS FOR SWEETS STOP PLEASE PLEASE

I found it helpful to go cold turkey. I liked sugar so much that it didn’t help doing smaller portions, because I could never stick to it.

The trick is to build your diet on healthy food instead so you’re getting nutrients and your body doesn’t feel like it’s missing something (which can lead to binging). Vegetables and lean meats are good for this. Apparently when you crave sugar, your body’s actually craving protein, so try a little protein instead. Watch your simple carbs like bread and pasta, because that converts to sugar, which is why that stuff can cause a spike in your blood sugar and you get really hyper and then crash.

If you crave something sweet, stick with fruit. I found that for this to work, it HAD to be fresh fruit, not canned crap. Dried fruit is also delicious (just check the label, as some dried fruit is made with sugar, too).

It feels weird in the beginning, because you’re so used to having sugar in your diet all the time, but stick with it. It gets much easier after just a week. I got over the initial discomfort by reminding myself how less sluggish I was going to feel without experiencing all the sugar crashes all the time, how much my digestion would improve (sugar inhibits digestion), how I wouldn’t have to worry about my next dentist appointment (two cavities in a row, last time).

It it helps, just think of processed sugar as poison, because that’s what it is. Helped keep me from eating it, that’s for sure.

When you cut out sugar, you’ll be surprised by how little food it takes to fill you up. When I was on the sugar train, I could eat a box of cookies and keep going. So you may find yourself losing weight pretty naturally. But it’s important you get your nutrients in with healthy stuff like fruits and veggies and meat, try to keep the processed foods to a minimum. If you want more info on that, I’d consult a nutritionist.
