How to become a shaman
How I did it: In 1996 I began by reading the book "The Way of the Shaman" by Micheal Harner. I had already a well developed psychic ability, and I had already an extreme illness and near death experiences. I was quite fit to receive the shamanic calling. By 1998 I was told by the spirit helpers to move to Bisbee Arizona, where I completed my internship. By 1999 I had completed my training and "they" (the spirits) told me I was a real shaman.
Lessons & tips: First and foremost you should not wish nor seek to become a shaman. The road to become a shaman is dangerous and it will harm you. There is suffering, pain and humiliation involved. You will not be able to learn from the pain unless you have spiritual helpers to guide, explain, and offer you the power of soccery. If you believe you are receiving the shamanic calling then you should follow it despite the suffering you will face. If you are called to be a shaman it should not be refused. Your suffering will be far worse if you refuse the calling. Trying to be a shaman when you are not called is dangerous to yourself and those you give aid to. Like any medicine, it is dangerous in the hands of those who are untrained and unskilled.
