How to run a 5k
"fun, but since i took a break from running, it took a long time to accomplish"
How I did it:
- I started running every other day again, but instead of going by time (20-30 minute runs) I used Google Maps and calculated the distance to make sure that I could run a full 5k.
- I paid the money to enter the race and instead of just thinking about it, I wanted to make it worth my while and not chicken out about running the race.
- I used Twitter to keep track of my runs, though it pooped out on my text messages at one point, so I lost track of some of my runs and distances. Since I always carried my cell phone, it was really easy to update from my phone to Twitter (when Twitter accepted texts).
