How I did it: First I had to strip one wall of wallpaper. Getting the paper itself off was easy--it came off in huge sheets, but it left a thin layer of paper beneath it. It took me a couple of hours with a warm damp sponge and a paint scraper to get the rest of the paper off. Then I moved everything to the center of my room, and covered EVERYTHING with drop cloths....and the painting began. First I had to paint the newly-stripped wall with a primer. Then a fresh coat of white paint when on all of the walls, and finally I put a navy blue stripe on the top of my walls. A new navy blue bedspread helped carry on the color sceme, and I got rid of an old desk that I didn't use, and replaced it with a mushroom chair. I got a new lamp as well, and now all that's left is replacing the curtains with something navy.

Lessons & tips: Get mini paint samples from the paint store, and paint sample swatches on your wall.....the last thing you want is to get a whole bucket of a color, and then decide it's all wrong.
