How to learn another language
How I did it: My family moved to Europe and I had to learn Swedish for school. I kept a journal of all the words I knew and their translations. When I had to translate a word ( which was quite often in the beginning ), I'd keep track of it in my daily word list. I only put it in the journal when I knew it by heart. One thing that helped a lot was focusing on learning phrases in the beginning, without putting too much focus on the grammar. Learning the language felt more natural that way.
Lessons & tips: Again, I say focus on phrases at first unless the language is of a different alphabet than yours. Also, the younger you are the easier it is to learn! It might be repeated a lot but it's very true. :)
Resources: Language dictionaries, children's books of the language I was learning, movie subtitles in the language I was learning, and immersion within the country helped a lot as well.
