How to get 1000 cheers by Matt Maldre

How I did it: I didn't do this, but rather all the wonderful people who gave me cheers on 43things did this goal.

Thanks to Lisa for giving me my 1,000th cheer. It was on the goal of Act goofy in an elevator with someone else. It took 1,248 days. Funny how 43things doesn't let you use four digits in the days field for how long it took. Instead I put months in. 41 months. wow. Funny to think I joined this site back in June 29, 2005. Wow. text text automatically got bolded by itself there!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 1,000 cheers. It means a lot to me. In the folder of bookmarks that I check every day is my cheers page. I love seeing new cheers.

whoa, not at 1,000 yet!

The count total for my cheers recieved is now at 997! Wh-wh-whaaaat? It’s as though the bottle of cheers has settled and the count wasn’t quite right before. So the 3rd cheer from now will be number 1,000—again!

Ok, now something is odd. I took a screen capture of the screen with the cheers to use as an image to accompany this post. But every time I upload and preview, it shows some random image. Clearly the 43things database is acting wonky today.

NOW i'm at 1,000

Thanks to John Lee for dropping exactly THREE cheers to reach me to 1,000! The winning item is the entry “How to install a thermometer inside my refrigerator.

But really all the winning cheers are also the 999 cheers that came before it. Hooray! I should be posting some cheer post-its in celebration!

(fyi, it looks like 43things is still acting wonky with the related image. I tried uploading another screen shot and got this nice daisy image instead. It’s nice though. :-)
