How to climb the Eiffel Tower by mpalm

How I did it: I waited a number of years to finally get to Europe on a family trip (lucky my mother is a travel agent!) France was our last stop, but one I made sure we did. We took the Eurostar to Paris from London, ate at a nice tiny bakery and then headed to see the Tower. We waited for a number of hours, we were there in July, right before Bastille day so we got there about 7 or 8 at night, waited in line for a good amount of time, and started the climb. When we finally got to the top observation level...the sun was beginning to set. The view itself of Paris is unbelievable, but to see the sunset from up there was just more than I could ask for.

Lessons & tips: Bring a snack, a baguette, some cheese, some wine.... you're going to stand in any of the 4 lines for quite some time regardless of when you visit. 

See it twice, once at night, and once in the bright daytime. During the day, you can really see everything in Paris and it's great! At night (or around sunset, like I saw) you can be on the tower while the lights twinkle, see the lights of the city, and see a totally different side of it.
