How I did it: I met an EU national, and moved over here to be with him. This time, it was SO much easier. I got my birth certificate and an apostille, booked my flight, and that's it.

When I got here, I registered at the town hall, got a form from the US Embassy to state that I am single, then went to the IND in Den Haag and submitted the papers. It was 50 euros, and I received a sticker allowing me to work in my passport right away. 2 weeks later, I have my SOFI# and I am looking for a job.

Lessons & tips: Just do your homework, research online what is required to enter the country as a partner.
