How to learn about classical music
How I did it: At first I just picked a dozen composers and focused on listening to one of them per month.
Then I started trying to learn a piano piece by my composer of the month, in addition to listening to the music.
This year I finished reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to Classical Music, from which I learned even more.
Now I'm trying to get my husband (hi, Nightnimbus!) to go with me to a performance of classical music at least once or twice per year. A couple of weeks ago we saw "Madama Butterfly."
Lessons & tips: Take your time with this goal and savor the music.
