very very very well
written!
How I did it: I´ve always had decent grades but good lord, art school is nothing like I imagined.
not only you need to work hard on projects but you are open to some harsh criticism (not always constructive) and a lot of subjective grading.
this makes having great grades even harder and it almost took my mental health last semester, but I learned that through hard work, administration, respect and always speaking my mind.
I guess what makes it harder is my scholarship, they not only request a perfect 4.0 for half a discount, they also require 3 hours of work a day (which they don´t pay, some scholarships in mexico suck, big time)
so they expect us to have perfect grades while working for no money, a lousy 40-50% off and still be able to perform our best.
guess it´s been a success surviving the system and keeping my grades up! it will pay some time when I study abroad with my name on dean´s list :D through my career
Lessons & tips: -work hard but take your time to do other things too
- do not leave everything for the last minute
-discuss your grade if you are not happy with it
- ask a lot of questions if you have doubts
- try study groups
- never settle for what you see in class only
and take it to the next level with extra reading and studying.
