How I did it: There's some people you can have know your whole life, and they'll be among your "best friends," and sometimes you can meet someone and connect with them more than anyone else ever.  When I first started college, I met a guy through ROTC, and after a few weeks, our friends were making fun of us "attached at the hip," they'd say, since we were always hanging out together. He joined the army, and I didn't see him for almost a year, but when I did, it was like we'd not seen each other for a couple days.  He's in Iraq right now, and we're still planning on rooming together when he gets back and we're both in college again.
