How to spend an entire day watching the extended version of all three Lord of the Rings movies back-to-back-to-back
How I did it: I originally saw Two Towers before ever seeing Fellowship of the Ring, so I was looking forward to seeing the whole trilogy in the right order. My boyfriend has the extended versions on DVD. We actually started the first movie really late at night, so watched disc one and then went to bed. The next day we started at 10:30am with disc two, watching the rest of Fellowship of the Ring, and then continued on with Two Towers and then Return of the King. Between discs we'd stop and have a snack or mini meal, and then start the next one. We didn't watch any of the behind the scenes features, only watched the films. We finished around 8:30pm that night. It was a long day but a pretty good one! I wouldn't mind going back to watch some of the bonus features now (when I have more time).
