How I did it: After pricing out a few places and looking through their inventory, I settled on JC Penney Optical. They have very reasonable prices if you're paying out of pocket and I found a very solid choice of frames (perhaps less funky than other options I looked at, but more practical for a day-to-day look and my wedding day pictures). If my monetary situation loosens up, I may purchase "cooler" frames for prescription sunglasses or a second pair of glasses under my husband's insurance. We'll see.
