How to learn Hungarian
It made me
surprised 
"hard to learn, but not impossible"
How I did it: I lived in Hungary for a few years. Watched a lot of TV, read the newspaper and listened to people speaking IRL. I did not really use any language books other than a dictionary. I would say I understand a majority of what I see and hear now, though my ability to express myself in the language is not as good as my ability to comprehend it.
Lessons & tips: The best way is complete immersion, but if you can't do that it helps to know someone who speaks the language & listen to them. Or watch Hungarian movies with & without subtitles.
