How to ride the MTA like a Pro
How I did it: Of course you can look at a map of the subway system and get from here to there, but I wanted to really know it - like where the best place to get on a car so you get out at the best place on the other end, which way to go without having to walk around looking for signs. The only way to have this knowledge is to actually ride the subway and do it everyday. I am now a pro as far as going to and from work, for which I have six different routes (so far).
Lessons & tips: 1. The more you ride the less intimidating it will be
2. My new motto - "you can push back" - whether it's closing doors, or crazed rush hour zombies
3. Look for alternatives - the route you know may not be the best
