How to have a baby
How I did it: well, we tried for the first time in March and thats all it took! i was pregnant in no time. i DID do a few things after sex to help the process, like MAKING SURE i orgasm, hanging out upside down for a while, and daily reiki. and aromatherapy to reduce stress. prayers. meditations. and voila! whether all that mumbo jumbo actually helped or not, i have no idea, but i got pregnant.
then, while seeing my OBGYN, i started seeing a midwife as well because from the beginning we wanted to have a homebirth.
in the end, i gave birth at home. it was an amazing and relaxed experience. no drugs. all natural. no episiotomy. no tearing. it was a 24 hour labor with the last two hours of active pushing and then he was here! my whole world was here, finally... i can't imagine any greater feeling than this. and i totally look forward to doing it again (in a couple of years :D)
Lessons & tips: relax and make sure the time is right for you. sometimes we'll try and try and nothing happens because God is telling us its not the right time. so listen to your gut. now that my son is here, i can't imagine ever doing this as a teen mom, as a single woman or anything like that. it takes an army to raise kid, for sure. and already in the first few weeks, i am so in debt to my husband and my mother-in-law who have helped me in the recovery process and early care of our new family addition.
ALSO! it is super extremely important for all of you new moms to do your best to rest! my midwife was like, "you should stay in bed for 10 days! but at least promise me a week!" while you may start to feel better after a few days, you still need to chill out. the first few weeks after giving birth, you still have all the pregnancy juices inside you, including relaxin which makes your ligaments like jelly. you shouldn't be lifting heavy things like carseats. you shouldn't be moving around too vigorously. you should be chilling out, enjoying your baby, and resting when no other immediate demands are in play. women who rush into life again after a baby put themselves in serious risk of not healing properly and also makes themselves prone to other negative health issues. so just chill out!

*Congratulations!*
I know you are a proud mommy! :-)
I’m just curious ~ what is reiki?

reiki
is a form of energy healing discovered by the japanese a long time ago. its purpose is to be able to focus and ask the positive energies of the universe, and God’s permission to channel His great essence through the body and out the hands to any specific object or being for healing and well-being purposes. if you’ve ever heard of chakras, reiki is used to clear and open the chakras. if they are all cleared of negative energy and open, the human being is in balance, clear-minded and more receptive. i used reiki when i was younger to fight depression. i eventually gave up on my therapists and dove completely into reiki healing. i use reiki now on all things- my son, my pets, my husband, inanimate objects like the toilet when it doesn’t want to flush or my computer when its acting slow or it crashes! and it usually works! it can heal the spirit and gt rid of that throbbing headache,,, its used for all sorts of things! you should research it more if you are interested. i am trained to perform reiki and with a couplemore attunements, i could be a reiki master and teach it to others! i look forward to that!
congratulations
on your beautiful new baby and your beautiful birth story! Your story inspires me because I am pregnant with my first child, and considering a home birth too. The idea appeals to me because a part of me doesn’t like the idea of being in a hospital setting, and would rather have this amazing experience in the comfort of my home. But at the same time I’m concerned about what if something goes wrong, etc. Reading your story is truly inspirational.
I also couldn’t agree with you more that it happens when you are ready for it to happen. I got pregnant quite easily too, within two months, and I truly believe it’s because it was absolutely the right time. Also, I agree it’s important to rest and relax as much as possible, as you said mothers need every ounce of strength so it’s important to be rested.

concerns...
weigh out the pros and cons and research it. my research lead me to believe that more could go wrong at a hospital that doesn’t need to go wrong. you could be having a completely healthy birth, but if it doesn’t move fast enough, other people can cause bad things to happen “accidently” with inductions or pain-aids and so forth… i figure, if something is gonna go wrong, i’d rather it be because something was gonna go wrong where ever i am, not because someone else caused it.
another thing is i trust my inuition. i feel that if anything bad was going to happen, i would have gotten a gut feeling. i have strong inuition nd i pray all the time that God will help keep me receptive. He’s good t answering prayers like that, i think.
most importantly for me, however, is my trust in God. there is no greater gift to God that we can give Him from ourselves is our 100% unwavering trust. it took a lot of prayer and meditation, but i did it. while, i still don’t think i gave him 100% of my trust, it had to be like 95%... the other 5 went to my midwife :D
and that’s that, that’s how i got over my concerns. the pros to homebirth were much more convincing anyways! freedom, relaxing, own surroundings, baby is always with you, no “coming home” you are already at home and you can stay in bed for as long as you want!! you and your baby are in charge!
good luck to you and God bless whatever decision you make!

Hooray!
Yay for you! I had a homebirth, too. And it was so very very empowering.
