How I did it: I like the pro account for the extra storage.  It's an easy way to point your family and friends to your photos.  You can easily organize them into sets also to show your friends.  There are also different levels of viewing permission for friends, family and public.

It's also very fun to look at the "interesting pictures from the last 7 days."  Very inspiring!

Lessons & tips: The flickr uploader is a great way to just drag pictures into a box and have them uploaded to your site.  Collections are also a great way to organize your photos.
