How to swim at least once a week
"swimming is the best exercise, and really relaxing too. 2 months and going strong!"
How I did it: I joined the athletic centre at my university. because it's so convenient, I can swim before or after my classes or work— most days I have to go there anyway.
I also got myself a little shower kit with mini shampoo and conditioner, body wash.. somewhat unnecessary but it definitely upped the convenience factor.
Best of all, I found a friend in one of my classes who wants to swim more too, so we've been going together.
I don't have the best swimming technique, but I just do what feels right and push myself when I feel like it.
Lessons & tips:
- find a pool with convenient hours, that is close to home or somewhere you have to go frequently (work, school)
- make sure you have the things you need— get a locker at the gym for your towel, flip flops, toiletries, etc.
- even if you only go for a short time, it's better to go anyway rather than break your routine.
