How to learn to play chess

"After my dad told me how to play chess it was fun!"
How I did it: I decided I wanted to join chess club three years ago, so I told my dad I wanted to know how to play chess. He told me the object of the game was to capture, NOT kill the king. He showed me the moves of the pieces, Pawn: 2 spaces on first move, 1 move on all other moves, Moves forward. Rook/Castle: Can move horizantal or verital as far as it can. Knight/Horse: moves in an L shape 2 forward and one over, Do that in all directions. Biship: Diagonal only on the color it starts on. Queen: Any way SHE wants to.(girl power) King: Any way he wants to but only on space away. Those are the moves to play chess.
Lessons & tips:
- You need to foucus.
- Be in a queit place
- Usually there is NO talking what so ever
