How to see a shooting star
"Not just one, but many shooting stars!!!"
How I did it: I went last saturday (december 6th of 2008) out of my city to spend some time with my friends around the nature learning how to read a sky map.
When we were all looking at the sky, suddenly... A shooting star! We drawn in happiness! But wait, there is more. As we kept looking at the sky more and more stars were falling. Then we learnt that we are in the middle of a star rain.
It will last until december 15th when we will have more chances to see them. So all you have to do is look at the constellation of Gemini on december 15th this year ;) (at least here near the equator, still i dont know how it works for the north and the south)
Lessons & tips: I guess it takes us by chance, but I think knowing a little bit of astronomy may help to catch star rains.
Being as far from the city as possible is a big help also. The light is a big problem to see deep in the sky.
