I take this approach as well...
I will either succeed, or die trying! ;0)
(Our oldest turns 13 this week, and I am still alive and kicking… Praise be to GOD!)
How I did it: I vowed to slow down and think before I reacted, taking a deep breath if necessary. I slipped up a little after a few days, but then I reminded myself--"seriously, girl, he's only 2 1/2. Be the adult already!" Now I only yell if there is immediate danger (stepping in the street, touching somehting hot, steamrolling his infant brother, etc.). My kids and I are all a lot happier.
Lessons & tips: Keep perspective. They are kids. It's their job to do frustrating things to try our patience. If they don't they will never learn where the boundaries are
Resources: Prayer, deep breaths
