How to see a broadway musical
How I did it: i looked at the website www.broadwayacrossamerica.com and looked up my city and the shows currently playing. i checked out the synopsis to get an idea of what the show was about, so i wouldnt be totally lost when i saw it, lol. i bought the tickets on-site, the day of the show, that way i didnt have to pay extra fees. the prices can be very economical, starting at $21, so you dont have to have a lot of money to see a broadway show and you get quality entertainment. :-) this is a great experience for kids, too! Hairspray, Annie, and Oliver are my favorites! i hope you enjoy your show!
Lessons & tips:
- first visit www.broadwayacrossamerica.com and find out about the shows, dates and time.
- once you decide on a show, visit the public library and check out the soundtrack cd or the movie, if it has one. this way you'll be familiar with the music and the plot, thus enjoying the show and understanding it a lot more.
- buy the tickets onsite, its less expensive than purchasing over the phone or internet.
- if you get the most economical seats, take a small pair of binoculars so you can enjoy the close-up details.
- take your own special treats, like your favorite chocolate (Godiva or Ghilardelli), to consume during the intermissions, thus making the experience more special.
- do take a shawl or light sweater in case the temperature is too cold for your liking, this way you wont be shivering through the whole show.
