"peaceful and powerful at the same time"
How I did it: i woke up on the morning of November 23 2008 and decided that since my son was at his father's house for the weekend, that a impromptu trip into London was called for. i'm thankfully only an hour away from London, by train :) so this was something i could just easily do and plan on the spur of the moment.
(and i was also celebrating the fact i wrote over 50K words for NaNoWriMo (http://www.nanowrimo.org) :)
since part of my story for NaNo took place outside the London Aquarium and also part took place inside it, i decided it was an idea place to go.
(and it gave me refuge out of the rain too!!) :)
Lessons & tips: if you are going to the London Aquarium with another person (even a child) and you take the National Rail train, they are usually offering 2 for 1 ticket specials that you need to query at the station you buy you ticket from (you get a paper to fill out and you turn it in at the venue choose, not just the aquarium is included in this, but a lot of other places too!)
also, it might be worth checking beforehand if any exhibits are closed. there were a few shut the day i went, so the ticket cost was cheaper as a result. just depends on what you want to see:)
i was lucky enough to pick a miserable day to visit and a lot of people were (surprisingly!) not inside when i went, i found one of the shark tank observation rooms and sat and wrote for quite some time! (*as per the little picture i added!) (*that's me taking the picture:)) :) it can be quite profound if you can be in one of those rooms with no one else or very few quiet people around!
