How to get my teaching license
"Beware getting your teaching license, for it leaves to a life of pure martyrdom."
How I did it: I took a 1-year Masters/licensure program through the University of Oregon, completed a years' worth of student teaching, and finished the requisite classes. I am still working toward my Masters.
Now I teach 11th and 12th grade English at a rural high school.
Lessons & tips: Unless you're down for working 90+ hour workweeks during your first two years of teaching, avoid this at all cost. It is one of the best things you can do for society, though--if you do it well. I am completely convinced of that.
Resources: Benadryl is sometimes useful when I can't sleep.
