How I did it: A woman at the range was mystified with my shooting. I tried explaining that I've been doing this since I was a wee lass, but she insisted that I teach her how. From there, Tom gave me inspiration and support and ideas on how to start giving classes aimed at women. I sent out emails to everyone I knew and took business cards to gun shops, pawn shops, and women-owned businesses and began to build up a client base with zero money for advertising!

Lessons & tips: Be careful about trying to pimp yourself at the local range. They usually have a "pro" in-house that they prefer to try to market and if they catch you doing that on their ranges, they get a little testy. Especially if it's a chick. I swear, the male range managers must lift their legs on the benches at night...

Resources: VistaPrint, local business owners, any clubs you may be involved in...solicit business from them - or at least put your name out there.
