Good Job! Cleaning the dining room always seems to be the most difficult at my house. I think the kitchen seems to come first.
How I did it: I set aside a day and made sure I had everything I needed - baskets for organizing, wood cleaner, the new bureau for my craft supplies, etc. I set up zones in the kitchen for the stuff that didn't belong in the dining room - one pile of stuff that belongs upstairs, one for recycling, and one for stuff going to the basement. Then I sorted through all the accumulated mess! I want to use that room as my craft room as well as a dining room so I bought this really nice antique bureau to keep my craft stuff hidden when I'm not using it. It was just a matter to putting all my craft stuff in it's new home, getting everything out of the dining room that didn't belong there, and then organizing what remained.
Lessons & tips: Don't rush - set aside a day and allow yourself the whole day. You'll probably need it, depending on how big your mess is.
