How to buy a new laptop

How I did it: i had needed to buy a laptop for about 2 years now. i moved out of the country, got rid of my old gateway one cos it was sluggish and bulky... plus it had +5 years on it. wanted to save to get a new one, but decided to eff it and just charge it to my credit card. its a macbook and its vv well worth it.
Lessons & tips: think of the reasons why u need a computer.
look around a lot, solely around those needs.
dont look at computers just because they are cute or trendy. look at it as its ur utility tool.
think lifespan: dont get an unknown brand just cos its what ur pocket can afford. ull b sorry later.
if u dont need 160 MB, dont get it. if u dont need over 3 USB ports, dont get them.
get precisely what u need.
for a few months before u get the computer, start reading computer business-related news. get to know the company ull b getting ur computer from.
Resources: not much. ive always been in the computers field and currently work for a major computer manufacturer, so it came naturally. :)
