How to make my own clothes
How I did it: I had always worked with a friend on costumes for school plays, but I was upset because I couldn't sew anything myself. I took classes over the summer and read a few books on the subject to fill in the gaps. I made a tuxedo-themed dress, a homecoming dress, a cape for a friend, and a tie for my boyfriend. I also modified some of my clothes. This is great for anyone with a really unique style; it helped me when I couldn't find the clothes I wanted in stores. I love designing clothes! :3
Lessons & tips: -If something turns out badly, don't worry, it's practice.
-Understand that the instructions that come with patterns can be confusing and get human assistance
-Don't try to make something really elaborate if you're a beginner.
-Buy extra needles before you start a project!
