How to dumpster dive
"One man's trash is, quite literally, another man's treasure!"
How I did it: Every year at college, I'd dumpster dive on move-out day. People would throw out the greatest things (couches, rugs, microwaves, TVs, books, rugs, futons, lamps, new hygiene products, food, etc.) just because they were too lazy to transport them home.
Well, now they've found a new home with me!
Not to mention, there was a great pizza joint in town that would set out a dozen or so extra pizzas after closing. Their overproduction was my college diet!
Lessons & tips: Always wash your hands afterwards. It's the number one means of preventing the spread of disease. And look before you leap: there could be needles, glass, pokey things, etc.
