How I did it: well, financially, we bit the bullet; now maybe i'll answer the phone when the collecters call. this was really about not selling myself short.  I am a very bright, educated, capable person and in an economy like this its hard to find any job, nevertheless one that makes you feel fullfilled.  It's very unmotivating to be rejected over and over;my self esteem is simple proof of that. But twice a week if not more i would browse the online lists (monster, snagajob, craigslist) and i would e-mail sometimes ten resumes, sometimes none. i also networked to everyone i knew in the nursing field. 

Lessons & tips: have someone look over your resume who knows something about resumes.  set up criteria for the job you want so you won't be settling.  be honest, hardworking, and show your personality.
