How to be financially comfortable

"Accept it. Don't expect "comfortable" to mean "rich"."
How I did it: I would say I'm "comfortable" now because not only have I accepted my financial situation, but I realized how blessed my husband and I are. We're making a little bit more money than we were when I listed this goal, but we've been able to do a lot of things by saving money elsewhere. Our bills are paid each month (and thank goodness we weren't/aren't affected by the high gas prices or the mortgage crisis) and we usually have money to spare. We aren't skimping on anything and also not wanting for anything.
Lessons & tips: Don't live outside your means. Everybody says it, but it should definitely be a rule to live by.
