How to ride in an airplane
How I did it: I did it for a national computing convention back in high school. It's real simple and if someone's paying your way, it will also be free. Anyway, just bring your necessities (you might want to plan out your trip), wait in line, go through security measures, wait for your plane. This is the hard part - you're going to be stepping through a building, onto a metal passageway that connects into the plane, and finally onto the plane itself. Do not turn back. Just show your ticket, let them let you on, go through the passageway, and get a seat closest to the window. After a bit, you will be shown how to properly wear your seatbelt. While you're waiting for the plane to take off, feel free to enjoy another reason why flying a plane is so awesome - Skymall! It's essentially a mall catalog on a plane that has some of the weirdest stuff you can order during the flight. Sometimes it's about as fun as studying a flap of cardboard, but occasionally it will surprise you. (Don't actually order anything, though - looking through it is absolutely fine.)When the plane actually takes off, look outside. Watch the plane leave the ground. Watch the houses and buildings get smaller, smaller, smaller until they become the same size as pebbles. It will be the most exhilarating and horrifying things you will ever experience - the realization that you are up in the air, and yes, ohgod ohgod I'm up in the air what if something goes wrong!? at the same exact times. If you ever want to feel excitement, wonder, and fear at the same time, get on an airplane.
Lessons & tips: Buying a plane ticket helps. Also following security measures and not giving the security guys a hard time. Impulse shoppers beware the lobbies full of magazines and snacks.
