How I did it: I had wanted to get it done for a while and my mom was totally against it. My dad didn't really mind but it was my mom's final say. My dad has a motorcycle so one day we went to a motorcycle convention-type of thing and they were just doing piercings and tattoos and stuff right there. I was watching them do it and was looking at the belly rings and finally my dad just asked if i wanted to get it done. haha So I was like SURE! and he just told me not to tell my mom. That was that....my mom found out a year later and was pretty pissed but oh well...i really like it.

Lessons & tips: always clean it...don't touch it too much. be careful if you work or go to school at a place that require you wear ID cards....I had a bad experience in which mine got stuck to my belly ring and tugged on it about 2 days after and it burned like hell. It'll be sore but it's tolerable. 

Resources: soap and water haha....alcohol too...I was very meticulous about cleaning my belly rings before I put them in...I still am and I've had it for about 4 years already.
