My husband and I both enrolled at WGU this Fall and we’re really excited about it. I was just curious which degree you completed.
How I did it: I attended Western Governors University. This was a good way to get a degree if you have little extra time and personal dedication to work in the little time you have. This is a competency based curriculum, so knowledge and experience is worth as much as books and lectures.
Lessons & tips: 1. Set aside fixed time to work on education.
2. Buy Used Books, previous editions have the same information for a fraction of the cost.
3. Shop around for the School program that fits your needs and time constraints.
4. Make sure the school is acredited.

I did a lot of research for online schools, which was a little overwhelming. Last year I came across WGU’s website and loved what they have to offer. I enrolled in a teacher’s program and am loving it! They’re competency based system is great and allowed me to “breeze” through some of the courses with which I was all ready very familiar rather than sit through it for the whole term. Love your tips, too. Used books are the way to go! I’ve gotten pretty much all my books off Half.com. Some are a little beat up or have notes and highlighting, but the information is there and it is cheap!
