How to fall in love
How I did it: i did nothing. i literally did nothing to create this to happen. one Fall day in september, 1989 to be exact, i walked into my very first public high school class- English IA. i glanced to my right where i noticed a guy staring at me. i remember thinking to myself, "yeah, i gotta stay away from him! he looks like he's on somethin, and he's gotta be nothing but trouble!"
i was so right.
we didn't speak much- in fact, i can't recall ever saying a word to him my freshman year. in my sophmore year, one day in may (1991 to be exact) a guy friend of mine from my homeroom came by my house. i thought it was a little weird that he knew where i lived, until he told me why he was there. he asked if i would be willing to "go out" with one of his friends. i didn't have a clue who he was talking about, but i knew i had the upper hand since i was the one being asked out. ever so coy, i replied, "well, whoever he is, if he doesn't have the balls to come up here on my front porch and ask me himself, then no."
Lessons & tips: up walked this skinny guy with long hair. total rebel. i was fresh out of catholic school and on my own porch for a reason- my parents were extremely strict.
little did i know i'd be married to him and getting ready to give birth to his 2nd child 18 years later!
