"I love making things with my little talent that ease the life of a stranger and keep them warm. I'm so happy that I can do this for other people."
How I did it: There are lots of groups out there that accept items, so find a cause you believe in and check out their requirements before you make things and send them in. Don't send a charity something that won't be useful to them -- that's not helping, that's dumping a problem on some poor volunteer. There are so many charities and so much need out there, you're sure to find something good.
Lessons & tips: Ravelry.com has a few groups that exclusively focus on knitting for charity. It's also a good place to look for patterns.
I also held a yarn swap at my house and gave the extra yarn to my local hospital's charity program.
