How I did it: My mother gave up two days to dread my hair. I purchased a kit online at dreadheadhq.com and she followed their instructions to give me beautiful dreadlocks.
Lessons & tips: Buying the dreadheadhq DVD was completely worth it. Following it, there is no reason not to have gorgeous dreads with a little maintenance and a great time committment. Find patient friends to help.
